A Special Delivery

Tom and I had waited 9 months for September 12th to arrive. We had hope that our baby girl would arrive very soon. The due date came and went, followed by the next day and the next. Every day past our due date was filled with anticipation and eagerness to meet our daughter. When my parents arrived in Utah my mom kept me busy and tons of walking. No matter how hard we tried to make me go into labor things just weren't going in that direction. The morning of Wednesday, September 19th at 7:00am I got a phone call from the hospital asking if I was ready to have a baby today. Our bags had been packed for weeks so all we had to do was rush to the hospital. Apparently a South Jordan police officer thought Tom was rushing a little too fast on the freeway through American Fork  and pulled us over. After explaining that there was a baby on the way and a look a my tummy that was ready to pop he let us go.

Now for the fun part of contractions, needles, and back labor all on an empty stomach. I was ready to get this girl OUT, although she had a different plan in mind. With some "encouragement" from the doctor my sweet cupcake made her appearance at 8:33pm weighing in at 7 lbs 12 oz and measuring at 20 inches with a full head of hair (no, I didn't have a lot of acid reflux when I was pregnant).
